Ring Sarasota is looking for advanced handbell ringers who might be interested in ringing challenging music with us as substitute ringers for our next season. Applicants must be able to ring music at level 3 and higher.
Auditions consist of four main sections:
- Written application (linked below) covering musical background and handbell ringing experience.
- Assessment of sight-reading, rhythm, proper form, and technique.
- Ringing a given selection with the full ensemble.
- Conversation with the Principal Conductor and Audition Committee about the group’s expectations.
Auditions are held annually in the spring. Successful applicants will be required to commit to the ensemble for one year, including regular sectionals, weekly full-group rehearsals, and all concert appearances. The group rehearses on Monday evenings starting with sectionals at 6:30 p.m., followed by full-group rehearsals from 7-9 p.m.
